I’ve been a photographer now for 6 years. Wow, seems like forever when I put an actual number on it. In the last few years, I’ve been seeing all kinds of “stylized shoots” on photography blogs, websites, and in magazines. I LOVE the concept of dreaming up a session theme, finding models, and getting down to the littlest details to make sure it all goes together. When I got this wild idea, it was the dead of winter. Go figure. Growing up in MN, I’ve learned it’s better to not fight with mother nature…plan so show her off! So my second stylized shoot of all time seemed obvious: iceskating, Lake Okabena, a heart shaped rink (my hubby and I scooped out on Valentine’s Day), balloons, and mittens with hearts on them. With those four criteria in mind, I set out to find an adorable WHS couple who could bring to life this idea. With the help of Kate Lesnar and Haley Gravenhof (thanks ladies), Emma and Parker emerged as the perfect candidates. We even went to see them in Grease a few days before the session just to get a sneak peek of our awesome models. We were in love!
When Emma and Parker showed up the day of their session we knew it was going to be a blast! Their energy, smiles, and love for each other filled our hearts with JOY, and their willingness to lace up their skates and go along with my crazy vision was such a blessing. Thanks you two for being part of the ASP vision!
